Raven Lord Victorious

Greetings and welcome! I'm Chris, and I'm a huge fan of Jamie Bell, a ton of various TV shows, and Science Fiction! I'm currently attending Uni to get a degree in Mathematics, but I love the arts and am fascinated by the film industry.
I also do fanart (mostly banners or photo enhancements), and I'm an amateur digital photographer. None of my fanart creations are meant as copyright infringement, and I give full and proper credit to all original creators (full list can be found on my Resources Page).

Anyway, that's just a little about me. I hope you enjoy my Tumblr! Also, make sure to check out my playlist at the bottom of the page! ;)

tw: flashbacks, WoW, sexual harassment

Reblogged from myownremedy

myownremedy:

Having flashbacks to WoW and essentially reliving the entire damn thing. I’m getting mad over the sexual harassment I endured. It would have been nice if my raid leader, who I considered my closest friend, stood up for me/backed me up and kicked sexist assholes from our raid, but no! I’m a girl gamer so I should just be flattered and accept that this happens.
Fuck off.

I hate when female gamers have to go through this kind of crap. We had a couple raiders that were complete jerks towards not just our girl raiders, but just girls in general. I really regret not speaking up and saying, “You know…just shut up.” Instead I just stayed silent. Though I think the guys go the memo because they didn’t get much response from the rest of the raid…it got pretty quite in vent. I would like to think that the raid leader of the new group I run with is much more responsible. He seems to be the type that wouldn’t put up with that kind of talk about fellow raiders. However, he does seem to go along so long as it doesn’t involve the guild or raid. I don’t know why guys like to make fun of female gamers. The closest thing I could come up with is that in WoW for some reason some men think it’s like their male hangout spot and are free to talk shit about other people, but with an online game the truth is you never know who is behind that avatar.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Preview Trailer

WTF!?!?! Did the people at Blizz just watch Kung Fu Panda and decided to make their next expansion based on it?! Don’t get me wrong, even though this is the super early preview I’m really excited and happy for something so radically different…but….PANDAS?! WHAT!?

No WoW ╪ Save Money

So the idea is to not get WoW and hopefully save money, but that isn’t really working out. The World of Warcraft subscription rate is $15 a month, which honestly isn’t that bad considering how much I play it, however I decided to let my subscription run out to 1) try and save a little money and 2) time things better for the school year so that I’ll have a little WoW time during that first boring week of class introductions. However, the saving money thing isn’t really working out because I’m passing the time renting various movies from iTunes and buying a couple *cough*Billy Elliot and The Eagle*cough*. My subscription ran out the 21st of this month, and in that time I’ve spent almost $30 so far on iTunes for music and movies. <_< Maybe WoW actually saves me money….

Revelry Vs. Nefarian

This is my guild’s kill video of Nefarian, who we got down tonight!! I’m the player who’s point of view you are seeing and I’m also the one that has been putting these videos together for them recently. :) So I hope that you enjoy. I’m sorry if the quality is a little laggy or just low in spots, I’m new to this and still learning how to make these well. :)

Paragon vs. Al’Akir (Heroic 25-man)

Recommended that you watch in HD if possible.

Okay, so I really wanted to share this video with everyone, regardless if you play World of Warcraft or not, because I feel this video truly embodies some of the amazing positive aspects of the game, and really captures the epic experience players get to enjoy. So, for the non players that may be watching this, let me just highlight a few of the aspects of the clip that you can focus on.

1.) Group Work - In watching this clip, you cannot but admire the teamwork that is going on between these 25 individuals. Now, incase you don’t know of World of Warcraft at all, it’s a massive player online game, meaning that millions of people from all over the world play this game and they all interact with each other in the game world. Hence, most of the people you meet in game you don’t know in person unless you grow to become a close group of friends and decide to meet in real life. In this case, this group of people are from a guild called <Paragon> on a European server, and guilds are merely a collection of players that work together on tasks, whatever they may be. In this case, the guild is working to down (i.e. kill) this boss. So basically, you’re watching 25 talented players working seamlessly as a team to accomplish a goal, and these 25 people have only occasionally met in real life. Now just think about that for a little bit and watch this clip…

2.) Big Numbers - As you watch this clip, you’re probably drawn to some of the numbers that are flying all over the place, allow me to explain just a few of these. From every player’s perspective you will see a frame dedicated purely to the boss, please take note that the boss has 168 million health…that’s a lot. The next numbers that may catch your attention are the numbers that fly across the screen, these numbers mean a variety of things. The most noticeable are often damage numbers, these numbers represent the amount of damage the player just inflected with his/her attack. The other numbers that appear on the screen are either damage the player is taking from the boss (most usually a red color) or the healing they are receiving from other players (most often in green). Finally, in a related way, you may notice a window on every screen (usually located near the bottom right) that has a kind of horizontal bar graph going on with some very large numbers on it, this is either a damage meter or a healing meter depending on which player is being focused on at that moment. Basically, this shows not only how much damage or healing players are doing overall, but also shows how much they are doing per second (The first big number you see on this graph (going from left to right) is how much damage or healing they have done overall, then the next is how much they are doing per second, and then the last is usually a percentage of what they are doing out of the total being done).

3.) The Epic - Being a World of Warcraft player myself, I’m somewhat used to the content and know what to expect in some ways, however when I watched this video my jaw literally dropped from the sheer epic feel of the encounter. I think that this is visible to both WoW and non WoW players alike. Now, since I am a player I may be more impressed by the events taking place, however I think that even if you don’t play the game you can still appreciate what these players are having to do and how amazing it is that they’re doing it.

It would take me several pages to fully explain everything, and even then it would be hard for non-players to fully understand everything the way an actual player does. However, I think the three key points I’ve just highlighted are very visible to everyone, at least I hope so. So I hope that you guys enjoy the clip, and please feel free to ask my questions in my ask box if you have any questions about the game or about <Paragon>, I’m not a member of the guild, but if I don’t have an answer for you, I can put you in touch with people that do. :)

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy!

When is Merlin going to come to grips with the fact that he is a “Warlock” and Warlocks can’t heal people?!

I think Merlin’s more an Arcane Mage than a Warlock though… :P
